Default 'Registering' Office Student/Teacher Edition 2003

I have just purchased "Microsoft Office Student and
Teacher Edition 2003". This is the UK Edition that I'm
using in England.

I have successfully managed to install it and its
programmes and it is functioning correctly. There's
something I'm uncertain about, however.

I have been told, by both PC World and John Lewis
department store, that by initially installing Office it
will remain functionable for aproximately 3 months. I was
also told that after these 3 months Office and its
programmes will cease to function. I was told that, in
order to keep Office and its programmes functionable
after this 3 month mark, I would have to register with
Microsoft that a "qualified education user" is using the
product.

I have been researching into this and no websites or
helplines etc mention anything like this. I'd be grateful
if someone could inform me whether or not it is necessary
to register with Microsoft that a "qualified education
user" is using the product in order to keep Office
functionable after the first 3 months.

Many Thanks
