When I do the first ooption - it only resets the folder I am currently
viewing - is that correct.

You probably modified your default Messages view. You can reset it via;
View- Arrange By- Current View- Define Views...
Another way to go would be to reset all your views in Outlook via;
Start- Run; outlook.exe /cleanviews
(note the space in the command)
