Hi,

Microsoft Word 2007 (Home), running on Windows 7 (Home), has overwritten a file with an old version. I am certain of this because it was an interview transcript, which I had viewed only hours before, and it went back to just the questions (version from Weds last week).

At various times, I may have had as many as ten documents open, and all were saved to a folder on the desk top or temp files if downloads. Can World/Windows not handle this way of working?

One final weird thing - the text from the project planning teleconference, one of the oldest documents in the folder (at least, that originated on this computer), popped up yesterday as "Document 3" without my opening it. This text is still saved under its proper name.

Can I get my text back? How can I prevent this from happening again? I've rebooted (transcript did not reappear) and am running a virus scan...
