Default "The value you entered isn't valid for this field" error

I created a form using the wizard. One of the field is a combo box that has
values from another table. I've gone through the properties for both tables
several times yet I still get this error message:
"The value you entered isn't valid for this field. For example you may have
entered text in a numeric field or a number that is larger than the FieldSize
setting permits."
I purposely made the several text fields larger than necessary and have only
one "special" format field - Date. The first field in the tab order is the
combo box.
Where can I look to see what's causing this error message.
