That seems hard to believe. Why wouldn't it just print a reasonable message
rather than just fail? When I tried to install the 64 bit version of Office
2010 it politely told me I had to remove the 32 bit version of Office 2007.
Can you point to any documentation that says this upgrade is not allowed?

You cannot upgrade an Office Enterprise. You need to purchase a new license with a
new install. This applies also to TecNet and MSDN subscriptions and all HUP
installations.
Basically that is what the error is telling you

I downloaded the 32bit installer for Office 2010 from Technet and tried to
upgrade my Office Enterprise 2007 installation. The install fails with this
message:
'Error 2203. An internal error has occurred.
(C:\Windows\Installer\93dca91.ipi -2147287035 )
Anyone know how to fix this?
