how do i restore wab dll file missing from outlook 2000?
No, is shouldn't matter. Outlook 2000 in IMO mode uses OE's address book
and support files.

Hello Hal,
When I did the search I could not find system folders so I tried C:/ and
found it in there.
The MS article you provided to rename and reinstall refers Outlook
Express.
My problem is in Outlook2000(Windows 98 SE)...does this matter?
Please advise and thanks for your patience.
Best regards, Marty

Be sure to set the search tool to look in system folders and hidden
files
and folders. If you still can't find it, it may, indeed, be missing; if
it
is missing, try proceeding with the re-install and skip the rename part
of
the article.

Hello Hal,
When I went to the link it indicated that for Win 98 SE ... I should
go to
"start, find and rename the file Wab32.dll"
I did that and it could not be found. Please help, Tks, Marty

Click the link I posted and read the article it brings up; the
article
will
tell you how to replace the file. You shouldn't lose any data, the
missing
file is the service provider, not the actual address book.

Yes Hal that is correct. Can you please tell me if there is a way
to
reinstall this file without losing any data in Outlook. TKS

You receive a WAB.dll file missing error message when you open
the
Windows
Address Book in Outlook 2000
