Default Multilevel list hanging indent

And if you ever need to modify your multilevel list in Word 2007, do the
following: Place the insertion point in the first level 1 paragraph of the
list (if this is heading numbering, that means the first Heading 1 paragraph
of the document). On the Home tab, click Multilevel List, and then click
Define New Multilevel List. Word displays a dialog box similar to the
Customize Outline Numbered List dialog of Word 97-2003. Make the desired
changes.

Making a template from the file I have and like, works! I shortened it to
three paragraphs, then I can copy as many new paragraphs as I want into
the
middle paragraph, and everything is formatted as I want. Thank you!

See the following page of fellow MVP Shauna Kelly's website:

You should create a template to hold your numbering scheme, so that you
can
use it as the basis for new documents (using File New) and the new
documents will then inherit your numbering scheme. To do that, see:

I created a 2007 Word file on XP with a multilevel list (1., 1.1.,
1.2.,
1.2.1., 1.2.2. etc) where all numbers are left justified to the margin,
and
every paragraph has a hanging indent, where the first line of each
paragraph
starts at what looks like the first tab but all later lines of the
paragraph
start at the second tab. It looks great. I used it for a construction
specification. I still have the file.
I don't know how I did it and I cannot recreate it again in any new
file.
The style is Normal. I don't know that much so I could not have done
anything
fancy. I probably used control T in the process.
How do I recreate this in new files?
