Default Appendix Numbering

Are you using chapter numbering as described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/ChapterNumber.htm? If so, you need to
start the new appendix with a new Heading x (whichever one is providing the
appendix numbering).

I use Word 2002 for a multi-chapter manual with
appendixes. I use Shauna Kelly's great article on "How to
Number Headings and Figures in Appendixes. . ." In
Appendix A, there are both portrait and landscape pages.
I've made sections for the landscaped pages. I've
adjusted the footers to number correctly for the whole
Appendix A. But when I start Appendix B with a section
break, the heading is numbered Appendix A. The settings
for the appendix heading look just like those of the
heading for the chapters. Is this happening because
Appendix A contains more than one section? Is there a fix?

Thanks very much.
