Default Can't drag message to subfolder

Hi Preach,

This could a problem with the master indexing file, Folders.dbx, which is
found in the OE message store folder. With OE closed, this file can be
renamed or deleted. A new Folders.dbx file will be created when OE starts.

There are two drawbacks to creating a new Folders.dbx file -- folder
hierarchy is lost (not the folder itself or the messages within) and any
subscribed newsgroups are lost.

DBX files are by default hidden files. It may be necessary to adjust the
folder view setting to include hidden files.

Open the Store Folder

Instead of using search the store folder can be opened directly. Each
identity has its own store folder.

a.. In Outlook Express click on Tools, Options, Maintenance tab...Store
Folder.
b.. Place the cursor at the left of the text of the path to the folder.
c.. Drag the cursor to the right until the text scrolls to the end.
d.. Right-click on the text and choose Copy.
e.. In the Start, Run box right-click Paste. Click OK to open the store
folder.
f.. Close Outlook Express before working with the message store files.

An even easier method when opening that page is to use the Tab to
highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C and close OE, then use Start/Run
and Ctrl+V. Same caveat about hidden files applies but can be easily
modified in Explorer by using Tools/Folder Options.

Close Outlook Express before renaming or deleting Folders.dbx. Perform the
routine maintenance of compacting folders while in Offline mode. This will
free up space (in DBX files) lost when moving or deleting messages.

This morning, I found I no longer had the ability to drag messages to a
sub-folder. Last night Autoupdate downloaded a half dozen or so Windows XP
undates, with some first not OK but apparently redownloaded OK, for OK
versions of these were listed as done right, and when I next checked for
critical updates, none were needed. The manual method of "download to
folder"
works fine, as does everything else I use in Express.
Thank you,
Preach
