Default Fax Number Not Displaying

State the changes you made just before "suddenly."
State the program that is the default Contacts Manager for your operating
system.
State whether your fax recipients appear as they should in your Outlook
Address Book.

nothing; I ran a scan for malicious software but found none; I have
confirmed
that the "Fax Mail Transport" account seems to be present and properly
configured; I have checked the "Fax Printer Configuration" properties
which
seem to be ok; and I repaired MS office xp installation... all to no
avail.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
