Default how to format cells in word to display numbers or date

You cannot do it with a Word table. However, you can insert an Excel
spreadsheet into a Word document and then you will have access to all of the
capability of Excel. Other than when you are working in that "table", it
will be indistinguishable from a Word table.

I know I can do this in Excel through the numbers tab BUT i really want to
do
this in Word and I cannot find a way to do it.

I would like to select a few cells in a table i created and choose to
format
them either in currency only or in date form. How can I accomplish this.

Thank you in advance

Tony
