Default message problem

Got me stumped. I can't imagine what it could be.

I tried that also. I get the very same error message. I even tried to
make
it a hidden file so I wouldn't have to look at it, it won't let me do
anything with it. I may just have to live with it.
Thanks for your help

Try rebooting in Safe Mode (use F8 key while starting up to bring up the
Safe Mode menu choice) and again try using Windows Explorer (WinKey+E) to
open the Desktop and try deleting it from within Explorer by right
clicking
it, and selecting Delete.

Those two things didn't work either.

Try opening the Desktop in WinExplorer so you see what's on it and then
see
if you can delete it. If not, then go to Start | Run and type msconfig
and
disable all startup items and non-MS services and then reboot and see if
you
can delete it.
