I haven't used Microsoft Office 2000 in a long, long time. However, I will say one thing -- aside from aesthetics and compatibility, not much has changed. Right now (at home), I'm using Microsoft 2007, but at work, I'm using 2010. I don't see too much of a difference between features and everything appears to pretty much do the same thing. The only issues I have with different versions is that you have to save them in compatibility mode. That can get pretty tedious and irritating at times.
