Default how can in insert increasing #'s on any project in MS pub. or

When you do a merge you can only have one ticket on your screen.
Setup a data base with your consecutive numbers, this web site shows you how
using Excel, it is about the same with Access.
http://msauer.mvps.org/misc.htm scroll down.

This web site has all your mail merge answers:

You will do better if you can find a template that has the spacing you need.
Look in the label list.

Try the following.

Type the number with which you want to start. (For example, 1)
Then type the next highest number. (For example, 2)
Continue typing in sequence (3 4 5 6 7 etc.) until you reach the number
at which you want to stop.

Now, a serious answer. Did you want to insert these on sequential pages?
(For example, page numbers in a book or newsletter.) Or did you want
them on successive cards on a single page? (For example, numbered event
or raffle tickets.)
