See "Margin marks or crop marks appear on each corner of the page when you
open a document in Word 2002 or in Word 2003" at

The registry hack is to avoid the reconfiguration that will otherwise

It should not be necessary to uninstall Office 2007 first. They will
install
into different program folders - but share some default user folders -
unless you change them first as in my previous message.

The same should apply to Windows 7 - though the dialogs may be different.

Did it! Saved my registry using ERUNT, modified it as suggested by Doug,
found and copied the folders as suggested by Graham and chnaged the
locations defined in Word Options then installed only Word 2002 into a
separate folder.

Opened an old Word 2002 doc in it and it seems to be fine.

One strange thing: when I view the document page in 2002 in Print layout,
I see half a square in each page corner. It obviously marks the margins
and is not a problem but they were not there in my previous installation
of Word 2002. What are they?

Thanks for all the help.
