If you use system restore and go back before you removed the exchange
account, you can get that much working... then maybe the guys in the
exchange forum will know how to add the gal back - there are exchange
newsgroups on this server or access it via the web -

System restore managed to get me back to a working system. Unfortunately,
now back to square one.

I assumed it was an Outlook issue rather than Exchange because on a
different client with the same user I can access the GAL no problem. However,
I will try the Exchange forum to see if I can get a solution.
