One problem at a time... To create a Microsoft Equation object in Word,
click on Insert | Object | Microsoft Equation. If this is is not a
choice on the Insert menu, then you need to install the Microsoft
Equation feature from your Office CD by clicking on Start | Control
Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Office | Change | Add/Remove
Features.

Microsoft Equation 3.0 is not part of Windows XP. It is included with
Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word.
