How to make the Global Address List available in Outlook Addre
Did you make a new profile or are you working in your old profile? it
shouldn't matter, but sometimes it does.
If you use system restore and go back before you removed the exchange
account, you can get that much working... then maybe the guys in the
exchange forum will know how to add the gal back - there are exchange
newsgroups on this server or access it via the web -

VPN may make it harder to figure out but won't really matter. If outlook
won't connect in classic (non-cached) mode, it means its not talking to
the
exchange server. This is probably the same reason the GAL wasn't
accessible.
- Outlook was working OK.
- Then I did something stupid (several months ago) and removed the GAL.
- Apart from a lack of the GAL, Outlook still working fine.
- When I needed to use the GAL I could not see how to reinstate it and
posted the original message.
- Outlook still working OK.
- In repsonse to a reply, I removed and re-added the Exchange account.
- Since then, Outlook will not start and comes up with the message
previously posted.
All of the above does not seem consistent with just a failure of the
client
not talking to the Exchange server. Either way, I need to get it back
working.
I suppose the question has now changed and become one of how do I
reinstate
Outlook. Do I need to go to another forum?
