One thing to note is that Outlook may turn on the Review feature even when you've opted to send as attachment. See the note at the bottom of http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00062.htm for specifics on this. The caveat is about Outlook 2002, and I don't know if this behavior is the same in 2003 or not.

It's worth being aware of, as this can bloat the PPT file size.
