Default Multiple Calendar

I have no special setting, that the way it suppose to work, it alway did
that before, and as for restarting with that switch, where do I use it,
because when I start Outlook it does not ask for any parameters

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in message

PrtSc should copy the screen to the clipboard. I have no idea what setting
you have enabled in Windows that sends the screenprint directly to a
printer. But if you have a digital format printer installed (PDF, snagit
etc) set it as default printer and try again.

Have you tried restarting outlook using the /resetnavpane switch yet? That
may solve your problems.

Does your computer have a PrtSc key? use it and paste into MS Paint,
save it and upload it.

If nothing happens when you try to switch to the folder list using
Ctrl+6 or the Go menu, I would try resetting the navigation pane, then
run office diagnostics and if both fail, something is seriously screwed
up - have a local computer shop take a look at it or reformat it.

How many times do I have to ask why can't you go back to the folder
list by pressing Ctrl+6? What happens when you press Ctrl+6? If you
are adverse to using keyboard shortcuts, look on the Go menu and
choose Folder list or use the button on the pane as seen in the video
I posted.

Please post a screenshot to xsolive.com so we can see what you see
after you go to the calendar module and one of what you see when you
press Ctrl+6. Until then, we can't help you.

the folder list on the left hand side

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in message

The /resetnavpane switch to delete the current navigation pane
config file and start you with a fresh one. All local folders will
remain in your mailbox but any shortcuts you created or folders
added to favorite folders list will be removed from the list. They
will not be removed from your mailbox, just from the list.

You could also try the /cleanviews switch -this will reset all
views and delete any custom views. I don't think your problem is
with corrupt views though and would try /resetnavpane first.

What do you see after you switch to the calendars then switch back
to your previous view?

The normal view, is the one that is there when I don't followed
your instruction for viewing 2 calendar, and is the one that
shows all folders

So what you're telling me, if I use that command that you gave me
I will lose all of the folders that I'm currently using, so I
will be much worst than I'm now

And you're talking about some customisation, what kind of
customisation is there in Outlook ????, I never found any
customisation, and I have been using it the way it opened after I
installed it

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in message
...
It will reset the navigation pane, removing all customizations
and hopefully, will allow you to switch between modules without
restoring from backup. Without seeing what is happening I can
only guess the navigation pane file is corrupt, because you
should be able to switch between the different modules as seen
in the video I posted.

Without knowing what your "normal view" is and what happens when
you try to switch back to the folder list from the calendar,
this is the best I can do.

The thing is I lose functionality if I do it that way and
then I have to restore backup copy of office to get back to
the normal view of all folders, so there must be a way to
select more than one calendar, or to make a setting so that
the view will remain no matter what so that I can view all
the appointement in the other calendar with in my main
calendar.

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in message

Did you even try it? It will work the exact same way - the
only difference is that you won't have some of the sharing
options but that is immaterial since the question is not
about sharing - its about viewing two calendars side by
side.

If you need to restore backups then something is screwy
with your installation.

This is a video of what should happen when you switch
between folder list and calendar view. Note that the
calendar view 'sticks' when you switch back to Folder
list until you select a folder to display - you can't
select multiple folders in the folder list though,
which is why you need to switch to the calendar module
to select multiple calendars. Either use Crtl+2 and
Ctrl+6 or the buttons in the Navigation pane to switch
back and forth.

I need to restore a backup, because when I do what you
told to see 2 calendars side by side, and not within
each other, the only way to get the whole folder list
back is to either retore the backup, or to crash
Outlook before it can save the new setting(which is
only seconds), otherwise the only thing that I can see
is just the calendars, and I can not switch to any
other folder/view, not even the e-mail

If you are an MVP for Microsoft, you could suggest
them a better way to view multiple calendar, a way
that does not require an engieering degree to use the
program, I just a normal user with no degrees. I
thought that Outlook 2007 would be easier to use than
the previous version, but it turns out, that if you
want to use the new "easier" feature, it's even less
user friendly than before

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in message

Why do you need to restore a backup to see two
calendars side by side? Hit Ctrl+2, view the
calendars then switch back to the folder list using
Ctrl+6.

you can't see two calendars side by side using the
folder list because there is not a way to select and
deselect calendars in that view.

it was a promo demo on the Microsoft web site, I do
not remember where it was, butit was showing how the
new Office 2007 was working and was new

But why isn't it possible to have it that way, it's
way more useful, than having to restore a backup of
the settings every time that I want to see 2
calendar within each other

"Diane Poremsky" wrote in

them.

do you have a url for the demo so we can see what
they are doing? AFAIK, there is no way to have the
entire folder list on the left and multiple
calendars on the right. you need to switch between
the panes to see the other folder types.

You're wrong there, because when I click on the
Calendar, at lease the way that Outlook 2007
start, I can still see the whole list of folder,
so I can switch to another folder easyly, but the
way that you told me before, the only thing that I
see is only the calendars, and whe I click more
than one they just appear side by side

What I saw on the demo, was the another calendar
appearing within the main calendar, and the left
side still showing all the folders, the way it
should be, toherwise I'm stuck using Outlook for
calendar only.

Ctrl+1 to see only the mail folders or Ctrl+6 to
switch back to the folder list - you can't use
the contents of mail folders and the calendar at
the same time unless you open multiple outlook
windows.

Outlook 2007 correct? Are you using a table
view or the Day/Week/month view? Oh... you are
in folder list - go to the calendar module -
either Ctrl+2 or click on the calendar button
at the bottom of the navigation pane. Now you
can show multiple calendars and overlay them.

telling about, the only thing that I have is a

When I click on one of them I see only that

the folder list's navigation calendar count
is controlled by the available space. If you
are showing the view selector, turn it off
(look on Views menu). you can also pull the
divider inward 1 or more calendar widths.

Hi,

All you have to do is go under My calendars
and tick the calendars you want
visible. You can then choose to overlay
them too and that way you will be
able to have a visual idea of what your day
looks like...once you can see all
the apt, meetings, events and tasks you
have.

To overlay a calendar, open it and then
click on the arrow next to the
calendar name. It will then overlay with
the other calendar.

Good luck,
