Assuming you were referring to Outlook Express, not Outlook...

1. Please be careful with your shorthand references. Outlook Express (OE)
and Outlook (OL) are NOT the same application: If you refer to OL but mean
OE, you could be offered dangerous, possibly disastrous, information!

2. Assuming all was well with OE to begin with, you should be able to have
your Hotmail account running in OE as a POP3 account and as a WebDAV account
without encountering such problems...at least until 01 September.

So where do you stand now? Is Hotmail running as a WebDAV account (server
points to http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp), as a POP3
account (incoming server points to pop3.live.com; outgoing server points to
smtp.live.com), or both?
