Your suggestion did not isolate the "Cover Sheet",
wherein neither a header nor footer are desired.

Additionally, the page count includes the cover sheet,
which is not desired, and is on the "First Text" page,
which, too, is not desired.

By the way, your message streams across the page, rather
than being formatted within the window.

Hi, Pat Jennings. Between the first and second page,
insert a Section Break Next Page. Click on the second
page, then click on View | Header and Footer. Make sure
the header says "Header Section 2" in the upper left
corner (if not, press the DownArrow key until you are in
the Section 2 header). Turn off "same as previous" on
the Header and Footer toolbar. Press the DownArrow key
until you are in the Section 2 footer, and turn off "same
as previous" here too. Close the footer. Click on File
| Page Setup | Layout | Headers and footers: Different
first page | Apply to: This section | OK. Now you can
insert the header and footer text as you wish.
