Default Creating cross-references to math formulas

Alternatively, if you've got multiple cells to refer to in a single table, bookmark the whole table and use a formula like:
{=SUM(Table1 A1)}
where 'Table1' is the bookmark name and 'A1' is the cell reference.

As to the auto updating, unless the document is protected for forms or you're using a macro, the results will only update via
selecting the cross-reference and pressing F9, doing a Print Preview or printing the document.

Is there a way to create a cross-reference to a math formula -- including a
reference that is located in a separate table from the one that contains the
formula?

If so, is there any way to make the cross-references auto-update (or do they
have to be selected and F9'd every time the data returned by the math
formulas changes)?

Thanks.
