Default Visio and Excel/Matlab integration?

Hi Al,

I forgot to mention that I am using Visio 2003. Do you have any examples for
that version?

Thanks,
Kyle

The easy part first. Visio 2007 can link to excel.
Visio does not without custom coding use the data to create new drawings...
Network routing can use a number of different algorithms (some standards
based, some vendor specific), Visio understands none of them.
I've attached a v2007 drawing with some example code to demonstrate basic
graphing (breadth first, depth first, spanning tree, etc.)
If you're asking which language might be appropriate, you might be in over
your head.

Hello,

I am trying to integrate Visio with either Excel or Matlab. I have
networking diagrams that need to be generated on demand.

Network node information (such as physical location and system type, ie.
source, router or sink) would be entered either into Matlab or Excel. I
would
then like Visio to plot the network routing based on the inputted
information.

Does anyone know if this integration would be possible, and which
language/tool you would suggest?

I will gladly provide more information at request.

Thank you!
Kyle
