There is a tool available from the Office Resource Kit web site that will do
that for you. The Local Installation Source Tool that provides the ability
to repair the Local Installation Source is available for download from
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/...rn/LISTool.htm. In addition to
repairing the LIS, it will also provide the ability to move it to another
disk drive.

What seems more likely is IF you tell it to install the CABs to the HD
then it does so and changes the pointer in the registry to point to the
location on the HD. Then if you delete the files the pointer points to an
empty folder. However, IF you never told it to install the CABs to the HD
then the pointer would still point to the CD. Since I don't know what
this folder is then I can't tell you where to find the pointer in the
registry to modify it. Maybe someone else knows.
