Default "Use Cached Exchange Mode" check box is not available

Hi Roady,

Is there a solution to allow TS user to use outlook in Cached exchange mode?
The reason is for junk mail filtering purpose. In our company, we have less
than 5 ppl using TS so the performance shouldn't be a problem.

Many thanks

No, Cached Exchange Mode is not available on a Terminal Server for
performance reasons. If all the logged on users were to enable Cached
Exchange Mode you'd be generating too much disk I/O. Cached Exchange mode is
used to reduce some of the stress from the server side and move it to the
client side. In case of the TS, you'd be only moving the stress from one
server to the other. In fact, you'd be increasing it.

Also, there is no need for using Cached Exchange Mode on a server. Since the
users already need to be connected to the Terminal Server, there is no
offline working scenario.

So why exactly do you need CEM on the TS?

This issue is also present when installing TS 2008 on Windows Server 2008.

Is there a workaround having TS 2008?
If not, will there ever be a work around?

Thanks,
Dennis.
