Did you have the 2007 trial on your computer? Have you tried uninstalling it
from the Control Panel?

How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by
using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature

If you rid yourself of all the 2007 entries, you should be able to use 2003
without issue.
