Default Severe bloating of Frontend DB with Access2007

Let me repeat. This bloating occurs in an empty database! No objects at
all. No tables, no queries, no forms, no reports, no modules.

As above, is bloating from 2003 format or 2007?

So far, I only have use 2000 and 2002/XP format in 2007 development. Nothing
on bloating.
There of course, annoyances and inconsistancies but all could be solve by
changing the format to 2007 accdb without any coding change or modifying of
objects.

You might want to try converting it to a 2007 format accdb than do a compact
and repair under 2007 before importing the objects. I have yet to try to
import objects like you did, but least it works for me.

Will try to use A2003 if I have the time.

There is too much evidence that it is an Access2007 problem.

It seems to affect databases orignally created by Access2003 (haven't tried
earlier versions). I can create a db in Access2007 and it won't bloat. If I
import objects from an Access2003 db, then bloating starts; even if I haven't
actually done anything, such as cause code to run, etc.

I've had one person from Microsoft say it was a recently reported bug and
will be fixed in SP2. But this was contradicted by another Microsoft person,
so I don't know.
