Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer,
asked:

| OK. So I got my nickers in a twist.
| the other day I figured it would be a good idea to be able to handle
| my mail (running on my 'central' machine) also from a second machine
| I also use frequently. On the second box I pointed Outlook to the
| .pst on drive x: (shared disk on my main machine). In itself that
| worked ok, but I probable made a stupid decision there. In order to
| be able to distinguish the two 'Personal Folders' I decided to name
| the one on the main machine MAIN Personal Folders, while setting this
| up. Bad idea. Later on I decided I didn't want this setup after all
| so I reverted, ie. I put the definitions on second machine back to
| what they were. So far so good.
| Now, however I ended up with Personal Folders on the main machine to
| still be named (displayed) as MAIN Personal Folders.
| Meanwhile I've been able on the main machine to get that back to be
| displayed as simply Personal Folders, however (my problem) when I hit
| the TO button in a new mail it tells me:
| "The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder
| associated with this address list could not be opened; it
| may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For
| information on how to remove this folder from
| the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Office Outlook Help."
| When I hit OK the Select Names box comes up, with "Show names from
| the" Contacts (top right hand side) and the drop-down box there
| reveals Outlook Address Book with *two* Contacts folders underneath,
| the first undisplayable one with properties:
| Personal Folders/Contacts
| and the second one with:
| Personal Folders/Contacts
| conatining my contact information.
|
| How can I get rid of the Contacts folder that apparently is faulty?
| (Office Outlook Help hasn't been very helpful).
|
| TIA
