Posts do end up on different servers. I can see your two test posts, but
none about compacting.

Are you using the MSNews server? Or another?

How do I copy fiies to a cd?

So these are messages currently in OE? Copy the messages. You won't be
able to read the files.

Create a folder on your Desktop, then in Outlook Express open the folder
with the messages you want...

Delete Bodies and Compact does not free HD space

When you compact, a copy of your files is sent to the Recycle Bin as a
back up. "just in case". Assuming all messages in OE are as you wish,
check and empty the Recycle Bin.

spectacles again and the thread is ignored, giving you the circle and a
grayed out message header.

XP, if SP3 is installed, will be supported until April, 2014. Although
dead, OE will receive security updates, if needed, until then.

Use of bcc for group emails

How many recipients is set by your ISP. If they allow 100, then that is
the max you can have in one group. Easiest way to find out their limit is
to call. If needed, they may bump it up if inclined...

If you install IE7 or IE8, IE6 will still be on your machine, you just
won't see it. OE6 will not be affected at all.
